Say Yes to the Dress

We know how crucial it is to find the perfect dress. With thousands upon thousands of designs, dress shopping can become a very tedious task. We've come up with six tips to help you say "Yes" to the dress of your dreams.

Tip 1: Set aside approximately ten to fifteen percent of your overall wedding budget for your dress. This price should, however, have some flexibility based on how much you value perfection over cost. Some brides have a very flexible price point, but we know that doesn't represent all of you. Create a specific price range to narrow some of your options. If you do have a tighter budget, don't try on a dress you can't even come close to affording. If you fall in love with it, you will feel like your settling for anything else. You can find a dress you can afford!

Tip 2: Give yourself at least six months before your wedding to find your dress - the ideal shopping time is about nine months prior. You will save the most money this way, and extra time will ensure finding just what you want.

Tip 3: Take time to really think about what you want before hitting the stores. If you don't enter with somewhat of an idea, the mass amount of dresses will overwhelm you.

Tip 4: Fit your body type. It is very important for your dream dress to be flattering to your shape, rather than merely the image in your mind. Consider what types of dresses are generally flattering on you, and what you feel confident and beautiful in. Look for your wedding dress along similar lines.

Tip 5: Remember, you can customize the dress! You can add more beads, a different neckline, or whatever else. Just be sure to keep your budget in mind because customization can add up quickly. You want your dress to be unique and match the picture in your mind, so don't feel you have to settle for anything less.

Tip 6: Look like yourself. Be the most enhanced version for this very special day, but be careful not to have makeup or a hairstyle completely out of your character. You want to feel comfortable and confident and ultimately yourself!

Now you can confidently say "Yes" to the perfect dress!

Perfect Bridal Hair

Up-do, half-do, down, veil, so many options! Almost as important as a bride’s dress is her hair, and it needs to be perfectly planned and executed. Make sure to do a run-through with your stylist prior to the wedding to be sure it’s exactly what you want and have time to make any changes. With so many style options, we’ve helped narrow your search with a few of our favorites.

Swirled or Tousled Chignon: Soft and elegant or wispy and light. This look appears effortless, but this bun isn’t going anywhere with enough bobby pins! Chignons are a very popular style for weddings.

Couture Roll: Simple and sleek. Two sections rolled together to make a more unique knot. Add flowers for added elegance.

Twirled Bun: These intricate loops and curls create a polished but playful look.

Loose Wrap: Slightly tousled curls appear romantic and simple.

Simple bun with feathers: Dress up a normal bun with modern feathers for a fun style.

Birdcage Veil: The modern 1920s feel. These veils have become more popular than ever as the vintage style is timeless and make any bride chic and elegant.

French Twist: A common styling technique that can be left bare or accessorized with diamond and flower pieces. This look is very sleek and sophisticated, and perfect for your special day.

Best of luck finding the perfect style!

Fall Wedding Season!

Fall wedding season is right around the corner! This time of year is filled with wonderful, warm colors to incorporate into your wedding day. Hues of reds, oranges, yellows, and browns can illuminate any bride! If you are considering or already planning a fall wedding, here are some tips we found from an article on WedAlert.com by Stephen Badiall, "5 Ideas That Fit Your Style and the Season."

The Weather: The location may influence the type of dress you choose. Stoles or wraps are a good way to ensure you will not be cold on your wedding day.

Unique Colors: Colors such as cream and ivory have become very popular for fall. These colors work well with the colors of the season, like gold, red, and orange.

Tie in Your Wedding Theme: There are several wedding themes that work really well in the fall, and fall wedding dresses can be used to tie everything together. Fall theme ideas include Halloween, vineyard, apple, pear, princess, and harvest.

Use Accent Pieces: Accent pieces can be a beautiful addition to an elegant gown, or they can help an average dress up a level. Crystal and silver brocade embellishments or gold beading and accents are a nice touch. Be careful not to go overboard, however. Some dresses don’t need any extra touches, and it is always best to stick to the adage that less is sometimes more.

Don’t Delay: Finding the right dress for you can definitely be challenging. Starting the process early helps reduce stress, and it can also help ensure you get your first choice of dress. A rule of thumb is to start the process at least one year in advance. This ensures enough time for ordering and altering your dress.
